As the summer heat slowly cools into Autumn it’s proving to be a great time to get out on the bikes. Yesterday was an old favourite for me – the Tehidy Loop Cycle Trail.
It’s a bit of a grind getting up the hill from Gwithian towards the North Cliffs but once you’re up there the views are stunning and the cycling is fairly easy.
It’s once you turn off the road into Tehidy woods that the fun really begins. The Tehidy cycle trail is on unmade cinder pathway but it’s as smooth as most of the Cornish roads and cool under the trees. It’s made all the better by a quick pitstop at the Tehidy Cafe before the getting back on road at Coombe, a brief uphill to Hell’s Mouth and the long descent into Gwithian.
One of the best ways to kill two or three hours that I can think of. If you want to try it give us a bell on 01736 755493.
